Who am i?

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, I have always been surrounded by a dynamic blend of cultures, artistic influences, and diverse perspectives, which greatly shaped my passion for design. As a first-generation college student, I am the first in my family to pursue higher education, and this journey has been both a challenge and an opportunity for growth. Growing up in a community where creativity and innovation were integral parts of everyday life, I found myself drawn to the world of graphic design at a young age. The vibrant art scene of Los Angeles, with its murals, street art, and digital media, inspired me to explore the ways in which visual storytelling could communicate powerful messages and create connections.

Navigating the complexities of being a first-generation student, I faced the pressures of balancing academic demands with the desire to make my family proud. My pursuit of a graphic design degree has not only allowed me to refine my creative skills but has also been a way to break barriers and pave the way for future generations in my family. It has been a deeply personal journey, as I strive to bridge the gap between my cultural background and the professional world I am entering. I’ve come to realize that my unique perspective as a first-generation student and a member of a diverse community adds value to my design work, as I am able to bring a fresh, inclusive approach to every project I undertake.

Through my studies, I have developed a strong foundation in design principles and techniques, but more importantly, I have learned the importance of using design as a tool for communication, cultural expression, and social change. My experiences growing up in Los Angeles, combined with my academic journey, have fueled my desire to create work that resonates with people from all walks of life, while also celebrating my own identity and heritage.
